I had the opportunity to be part of a local startup thePicklebase.com. The goal is to create authority in the booming Southeast Asian pickleball scene primarily focused on the Malaysian market.
My goal is to create content daily covering:
- Tournaments
- News
- Evergreen Guides
- Insights

Keyword Research
Filtered (highest search volume with the lowest competition) 12-month data from Ahrefs using the keywords “pickleball” in different target markets in SEA. Unfortunately, there are no data for China due to restrictions on Google.
- Top Keywords in Malaysia
- Top Keywords in Vietnam
- Top Keywords in Singapore
- Top Keywords in the Philippines

| Keyword | SV | Country |
| Pickleball paddle | 7300 | MY |

Content Authority Map
Based on the keywords, I also mapped out top FAQs (+SV) into a topical authority map.
This map will help determine what content groups need to be prioritized and target low-hanging fruits in the space.

Campaigns
I also prepared a strategy with the goal to monetize the website by incorporating campaigns with brands in the pickleball space.

Campaign Articles
I created campaign articles for FILA during the Leapmotor Tournament in Kuala Lumpur. Our partnership with Selkirk also allowed us to do a raffle and promote our social media @thepicklebase.

Native Ads

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to screen-capture our native ads for our partnership with Selkirk.
Analytics
The articles supports traffic growth by portraying EAT (Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness). It serves as a vehicle for our Google ad campaigns on our subdomains to further strengthen our visibility in the space.
This data is based on the website’s internal analytics.
Before
Traffic performance before we started making long-form content. The goal is to hit 10k views in June.

After
This snapshot of the traffic is taken in September. Unfortunately, I was not able to do further analysis on the traffic.
